Africa is not Charlie

Many people of Ivory Coast do not like the international uproar that the assassinations of Charlie-Hebdo generate, when so many men, women and children have been victims of a similar terrorism in  Ivory Coast on September 19, 2002, when heavily armed terrorists trained in Burkina Faso and backed by France in favor of Alassane Ouattara - the current President of Ivory Coast - attacked the legitimate government of President Laurent Gbagbo, killing hundreds of civilians and soldiers. They have claimed that "France" was responsible for so much evil in Africa, mainly in Ivory Coast, that we should not feel sorry for a handful of French murdered. " France called us ( Young Patriots) government-funded militias any time we gathered not only to defend the sovereignty of Ivory Coast but also to say no to terrorism" Konan Benjamin a former college student in Bouaké remembered; '' now they are marching together against terrorism as we did 12 years ago'' he added.

None of these voices are ignored because they echo some of the conversations in the city, in villages or on social networks.
"We regret that some reactions are not the same when these events occur in our countries in Africa" said Faure Gnassingbe, President of Togo ; "if we blame Westerners not to be with us when there are rebellions, here is precisely the opportunity to come with them to understand that it is the same evil even if it takes different forms whether in Africa, the Middle East or Europe. it is the same evil, "he added, echoing the anger of many Africans.

« Nous sommes scandalisés d’apprendre qu'en France aussi, on est ensemble; cette meme France  nous refusait la liberté  de manifester dans notre, sous pretexte qu'on etait des milices
